Assignment 1: Bus Shelter

This is our first project for Building Construction 2. We are required to design and build a 1:50 scale bus shelter that are able to withstand both live load and dead load, and are stable. We are also required to use appropriate joinery method for the bus shelter.

We used several programs in aid to stimulate various analysis on the digital model. The digital model is created with actual and accurate dimensions. It is also used for our report.
Load bearing test
The bus shelter is tested with several representative of load class. It is first tested with 6 bottles that weigh up to approximately 5kg, and 2 laptops that could represent rain load, with an approximate weight of total 5kg. The bus shelter was also tested with a human of 50kg.
