Assignment 3: Studio Drawing

This is our third project for the module, which we need to generate orthographic and perspective/axonometric drawings for our very own studio hideout model. plans, elevation and cross section are needed, and additionally a choice of one axonometric or three interior perspectives. For me, to better showcase my spaces within the hideout, I chose to produce three interior perspectives rather than an axonometric drawing.

The hideout is built in an imaginery space between two cliffs, one at 15m height and another at 12m height, and teh floor area that spans between these two cliffs are 6x15m. We are required to use less than 70% of the floor space and the height of our hideout must not exceed that of the 15m cliff.

On the right: The front elevation and cross section of my hideout.

On the left: The three interior perspectives of my hideout, which includes the lounge, the library, and the circulation.
Reflection
I had a lot of fun in doing this assignment and am quite excited in the fact that I am producing drawings for my own design, although just a small hideout. During the presentation, I got some helpful feedbacks from the kind guest and I had learnt some of my mistakes in both the model and the drawings, as well as flaws in my design concept. Flaws regarding the studio model would not be discussed here however, the drawings that i had made on the tracing papers proved to be not that great when it is stuck on hard cardboards. I was told that it would diminish the effect of lineweight on my drawings, making them less obvious and clear, that I should scan them and print them on white papers instead, then sticking it on the board. Well, this would be one of my lesson learnt from this project, I guess, apart from several others that will help shape my journey and experience through the course.
